Popular seafood item recalled from supermarkets

Woolworths has pulled a popular seafood item from freezers around the country because of an undeclared allergen.

According to Food Standards Australia, Markwell Foods has recalled its 1kg bag of Shore Mariner Seafood Sticks due to the presence of egg and soy.

“Consumers who have an egg or soy allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed,” the recall notice reads.

This excludes product already re-labelled to include egg and soy declaration.

Anyone who has purchased the recalled seafood product, made in Thailand, is being urged to return it for a refund.

“Consumers who have an egg or soy allergy or intolerance should not consume this product and should return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
