Possible arson attack on Gold Coast units

Local authorities are investigating a suspicious fire at a unit complex on Duet Drive in Mermaid Waters overnight.

Initial investigations suggest the fire started late last night in the carport of the complex, damaging vehicles before spreading onto the roofs and walls.

A 26-year-old woman was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and urge anyone who may have information to contact Crime Stoppers.

Investigations are continuing.
