The Gold Coast has missed the brunt of a number of severe thunderstorms that lashed the southeast last night, but we’re not in the clear just yet.
A severe storm warning was issued for the southeast yesterday afternoon, including for areas of the northern Gold Coast.
Most areas did see a bit of rain, but no more than 10 millimetres since 9.00am yesterday.

While the Scenic Rim received a little bit more, recording around 20 millimetres over the last 24 hours.
But Brisbane took in the most rain, with a couple of areas recording over 50 millimetres.
Meantime, a number of homes have been without power across Logan, Brisbane and the Scenic Rim this morning.
Energex has since been able to restore power to most houses.
While the Gold Coast was able to escape the worst of it overnight, we’re being warned there is more on the way.
There’s a slight chance of a thunderstorm today, but a chance of severe thunderstorms again tomorrow.
The Bureau is also forecasting around 70 millimetres of rain for the area over the next three days.
