Power outage sparks chaos at Sydney Airport
THOUSANDS of travellers are stranded around the country this afternoon after a major power outage shutdown parts of Australia’s largest airport this morning.
All flights scheduled to fly in or out of the T2 domestic terminal at Sydney Airport have been affected by the blackout.
This includes passengers flying Virgin, Jetstar, Rex and Tiger Airways. Qantas has been unaffected.
Four Sydney-bound flights scheduled to fly out of Gold Coast Airport this afternoon have been cancelled, along with another six scheduled to arrive on the coast from Sydney.
It is understood the outage started at about 8.30am.

Flight 613 from Gold Coast to Sydney cancelled
JETSTAR
Flights 416, 412 from Sydneey to the Gold Coast cancelled
Flights 417, 413 from Gold Coast to Sydney cancelled
VIRGIN
Flights 517, 519, 523 from Sydney to the Gold Coast also cancelled.
Flights 526 from Gold Coast to Sydney cancelled
