Gold Coast Surf Lifesaving’s Nathan Fife said we can expect “two metre to three metre swell so definitely only for the experienced surfers, if you’re not experienced stay away and let the experienced people do it”.
He reminded beachgoers to stay between the red and yellow flags if they do go for a swim saying “with powerful surf that means there’s going to be a lot of water movement so yeah just make sure you are swimming between the red and yellow flags and at patrolled beaches”.
