Pregnant woman, toddler escape serious injury in Gold Coast crash

A PREGNANT woman and her toddler son have escaped serious injury following a nasty multi-vehicle crash on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to the three-car smash on Mount Nathan Road, between Mount Nathan and Nerang just before 3pm. It’s understood the vehicles collided nose-to-tail near Arunta Drive.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics attended and assessed multiple people at the scene.

Thankfully, the occupants of all three vehicles appear to have escaped serious injury.

A pregnant woman aged in her 20s was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital with abdominal pain. She was accompanied by her toddler son who escaped the collision uninjured.

Meanwhile, a man in his 60s was taken to the same hospital with a chest injury and a man in his 30s was hospitalised with neck and shoulder pain.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the occupants were transported in stable conditions.

Motorists have been urged to steer clear of the area, with the crash blocking Mount Nathan Rd in both directions.

Emergency services remain at the scene.
