PREMIER Annastacia Palaszczuk has arrived on the Gold Coast today to address industry leaders, members of the business community and political figures at a special Gold Coast Central Chamber of Commerce breakfast.
The premier opened her speech at The ‘Big Ideas Breakfast’ being held at the exhibition and convention centre in Broadbeach, praising the Gold Coast for pushing the government to fund the second stage of the light rail development.
“Everyone sitting in this room should be very proud of themselves,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

The premier presented her vision for the Gold Coast and discussed what the State Government is doing to ensure the city’s prosperous future.
Ms Palaszczuk said she thought of the Gold Coast as a leading tourism and business destination, with the light rail, chinese tourists and the movie industry the future of the city.
During her speech, Ms Palaszczuk also said she was working to secure direct flights from Shanghai to South East Queensland.
