Premier to face grilling over health crisis, business support

Queensland’s opposition is preparing to grill the Premier over key issues around the state before she heads to Tokyo for the Olympics.

Annastacia Palaszczuk will take the hot seat at the Estimates Hearing in Parliament this morning.

The LNP is expected to focus on the state’s ‘health crisis’, with questions about ambulance ramping, elective surgery waitlists and dysfunctional emergency departments.

The special hearing had to be moved to today so that the Premier could still fly to Tokyo this weekend.

She’ll then have to go into two weeks of hotel quarantine when she returns.

Opposition Leader David Crisafulli says they’ll be making the most of the 3.5 hour questioning time.

“This is the one window we get to grill the premier before she jets off overseas, we’ll be asking questions about the health crisis, the spike in youth crime and the support that’s so desperately needed for small businesses and their staff if we go into lockdown again,” Mr Crisafulli said.

The hearing gets underway at 10.00 am.
