A Watch and Act warning has been issued for a bushfire in Cornubia, just north of the Gold Coast, this afternoon.
The large blaze is currently burning in the vicinity of Mount Cotton Road and Coorang Road and is travelling in a southerly direction.
Residents are being warned they need to be ready to follow their bushfire survival plan as conditions could get worse.

“If you do not have a plan, or intend to leave, you should be ready to leave the area because the situation could get worse quickly,” QFES said.
Fire crews are working to contain the fire, but firefighters may not be able to protect every property.
People in the area are being warned they will be affected by smoke, which will reduce visibility and air quality.
Residents who choose to leave the area can do so via Mount Cotton Road.
