Prisoner stabbed in frenzied attack at NSW jail

A PRISONER has been taken to hospital after being stabbed repeatedly in a frenzied attack inside a jail in Sydney’s north west.

The 27-year-old male inmate was attacked at the Parklea Correction Centre on Sentry Drive shortly after 10.30am.

He was reportedly found in a yard with multiple stab wounds to his hip, abdomen and calf.

He has since been taken to hospital for treatment to what police have deemed non life-threatening injuries.

The facility has been locked down as guards search for a weapon and the incident is investigated.
