A PRIVATE tropical island complete with its very own sandy beaches has hit the market in Queensland and it can be all yours for almost a quarter of the price of a waterfront home on the Gold Coast.
Wedge Island is located roughly five kilometres offshore of Emu Park on the sunshine state’s Capricorn Coast.
The owners first placed the 23-acre property on the market for $850,000 12 months ago. That price, however, has since been slashed to less than half a million dollars.

The exclusive island property has been reduced to just $495,000 in the hope it’ll fetch a quick sale.
That’s more than $1 million cheaper than the median house price in the beachside Gold Coast suburb of Main Beach.
Or, around the same price of a standard 3-4 bedroom home in the outer insland suburb of Upper Coomera.
Australian Islands Agent Richard Vanhoff said the owners, a group of young, single mates used the property as a “party island” for many years, but have since grown up and moved on.
The island features all weather mooring, 15,000L rainwater tanks, a bio-toilet, gas hot water, a 15kva generator and a TYM tractor with a mower and 4-in-1 bucket.
Mr Vanhoff said, with council permission, the new owners could build their dream getaway home on the island.
