PRODUCT RECALL: Kmart issues recall on popular Home & Co toaster
KMART is recalling one of their Home & Co branded toasters over fears users may suffer electric shock.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission alerted people to the Home & CO TL-136 2 Slice Stainless Steel Toaster recall in a notice on their website.
“Some of the toasters have a faulty switch, causing the heating element to remain “live” when the lever is up and the toaster appears to be turned off,” the recall notice reads.
“There is a risk of electric shock if the user makes contact with the heating element.”
The recalled toaster was sold both nationally and internationally between 1 September 2016 – 1 November 2017.
Customers have been told to stop using the toaster immediately and to return it to any Kmart store for a full refund.
No other Kmart toasters are affected by this recall.
