Protective Services Officer charged over indecent acts with child

A Protective Services Officer has been charged with allegedly committing indecent acts with a child under 16.

Victoria Police confirmed the officer had been charged on Tuesday following ongoing investigations.

In a statement, police said the incidents are believed to have occurred some ten years ago in country Victoria prior to the PSO joining Victoria Police.

The man, whose age has not been revealed, has been charged with eight counts of indecent act.

He has been suspended with pay and is due to appear in the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 29 September.
