Public urged not to approach prison escapees on the run in Qld

The public are being urged not to approach two male prisoners believed to be on the run in Qld.

The pair, who are prisoners at the Capricornia Correctional Centre, escaped lawful custody in Rockhampton on Monday afternoon.

Police said they were undertaking a community work order at the Rockhampton Showgrounds when Corrective Services officers reported them missing just before 1pm.

The first prisoner is 21-year-old Nelson Jack Kepa who is described as having a dark complexion, about 172cm tall with black hair, brown eyes and tattoos on his fingers.

The second prisoner is 25-year-old Levi James Brown who is described as having a light complexion, about 175cm tall with brown eyes, black hair and the word “Brown” tattooed on his neck.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts are urged not to approach them but to call police immediately.
