Qantas flight evacuated on tarmac at Sydney airport after filling with smoke
Passengers on a Qantas flight have been forced to use emergency slides to evacuate the aircraft in Sydney after the cabin filled with smoke.
Flight QF 575 had taken off from Sydney bound for Perth when it was forced to return because of hydraulic issues.
It’s understood the A330 was then then waiting to be towed to a terminal gate when it began to fill with smoke.
One passenger tweeted that the captain started screaming ‘evacuate’ describing the incident as ‘terrifying’ .
Another said the cabin crew were ‘fantastic’ during the evacuation process.
NSW Ambulance says they have treated a number of passengers for minor injuries suffered during the evacuation.
More to come.

Just had to evacuate my flight to Perth after engineering issues. Everyone had to exit the plane via slide onto Sydney tarmac after the cabin filled with smoke and the captain screamed evacuate. Terrifying.
