The Queensland Labor party has unveiled another Gold Coast candidate ahead of the state election, with Southport local Ash Borg to contest the seat of Bonney.
Mr Borg was born and bred on the Gold Coast, with a healthy appreciation for the local tourism and hospitality sectors given his parents both worked at Jupiters Casino.
He now raises his own young family and works as a Senior Legal and Industrial Officer for an aviation organisation.

Previously, he’d been an advocate for construction workers, and stands ready to fight and deliver jobs for his community.
“I will work alongside my Northern Gold Coast community to reinvigorate our businesses and get local people back to work,” Mr Borg said.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk believes he’ll represent the community well.
“We need local champions like Ash to help deliver our COVID-19 economic recovery plan to support businesses and restore local jobs on the Gold Coast.
“Queensland’s economic recovery plan is already bringing forward significant investment on the Gold Coast by fast tracking local infrastructure projects that keep Queenslanders connected, and working,” the Premier said.
Mr Borg goes up against the LNP’s Sam O’Connor, who currently holds the seat, in the October state election.
