Qld man charged after attacking, injuring woman and police officer

A man has been charged after a woman and a police officer were injured in Stafford overnight.

Just after 9.35pm, police were called to a home on Webster Road where they found an injured woman inside.

A man allegedly attempted to stop officers from entering the house by kicking a male Constable in the chest and throat.

He then tried to barricade himself inside the home, and when eventually taken into custody, police say he became extremely aggressive.

The woman and the injured officer received treatment for minor injuries.

A 27-year-old Stafford man has since been charged with several offences including two counts each of serious assault police, one count of deprivation of liberty and one count of assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
