Qld man charged with murder of baby son

A man is due to face court today charged with the murder of his six-month-old son.

The 24-year-old was taken into custody by detectives from Mackay’s Child Protection and Investigation Unit just after 2.00pm yesterday.

It comes after the baby boy was found unresponsive at a home in East Mackay on Tuesday, June 2.


Police said the the infant suffered a significant brain injury and passed away in Townsville Hospital two days later.

The man, who is understood to be the young boy’s father, has been charged with murder and grievous bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court today.

How many more children need to die before every one realises that ‘mum’ and ‘dad’ are not always the best place for children. Just because you can breed doesn’t make you a natural parent….take a look at the animal world.
