Qld man gets life for murder of stepdaughter

UPDATE @ 2.00pm: A Queensland man convicted of murdering his stepdaughter has been jailed for life.

Raymond John Mead appeared in Brisbane’s Supreme Court today where he was sentenced to life behind bars.

The 52-year-old was found guilty of murder by a jury in August this year.

The court heard he had stabbed 23-year-old Sherelle Locke to death while she was watching TV with her mother at a house in Boronia Heights in February 2014.

He will be eligible for parole after serving 20 years and six months

EARLIER @ 7.40am: A man convicted of murdering his stepdaughter is due to be sentenced in Brisbane’s Supreme Court today.

The 52-year-old was found guilty by a jury in August this year.

The court heard he had stabbed 23-year-old Sherelle Locke to death while she was watching TV with her mother at a house in Boronia Heights in February 2014.
