Qld man extradited to NSW to face murder charge

A Queensland man has been extradited over the border and charged with murdering another man in northwest New South Wales.

Investigations commenced back in May after a 53-year-old man was found at the front of a house in Coonabarabran with serious injuries to his head and face.

Police were told that a group of people had been gathered at the home along Nandi Street at the time.

Following extensive inquiries, police identified a 23-year-old man in Queensland who was known to the deceased.

He was arrested in Carseldine on Monday morning and fronted Brisbane court yesterday where police were granted his extradition over the border.

He was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was later charged with murder.

He’s been refused bail and will front Tweed court today.
