QLD man risks his life for Christmas lights display

A TOWNSVILLE man has risked his life to make his Christmas light display stand out.

The man is accused of disconnecting the street light in front of his house at Burdell to give his display more sparkle.

ABC reports, the light has about 240 volts running through it and could have seriously injured or killed him if he made the wrong move.

“It’s not called the silly season for sensible activity,” Mark Timmerman from Ergon Energy told ABC 612 Brisbane.

“Fiddling with electricity is a deadly game.”
