Qld mother and child killed in horror crash with truck in NSW

A horror crash in NSW has claimed the life of a woman and her son.

The accident occurred just after 11.45am on Tuesday, when a Holden Astra and truck collided head-on on the Princes Highway near Berry.

The driver of the car, a 39-year-old woman, and her 12-year-old son who was sitting in the back seat, died at the scene.

The front seat passenger, a girl aged 14, had to be cut free from the wreckage and was airlifted to Sydney Children’s Hospital where she remains in a critical condition.

Police say the trio are understood to be from Queensland.

The driver of the truck, a 41-year-old man, was treated for shock at the scene before being taken to Shellharbour Hospital for mandatory blood and urine testing.

Crash Investigators are investigating the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.
