A Queensland Labor MP has been fined for being a public nuisance after he became involved in a fight during a night out in Townsville.
Mundingburra MP Les Walker has also been banned from the town’s Safe Night Precinct following the incident, which occurred in the early hours of January 16.
Police said officers were called to a “disturbance” between Mr Walker and two men, aged 19 and 21, at a Flinders Street hotel around 12.40am.

The 56-year-old was knocked unconscious and taken to Townsville University Hospital for treatment, however he has since been released.
Following investigations into the incident, police today served the newly-elected MP with a public nuisance notice and banning notice.
The two younger men were also issued with public nuisance infringement notices and banning notices.
