Qld MP busted drink driving after Origin
Queensland Independent MP Billy Gordon has been charged with drink driving.
Police have confirmed a 43-year-old man was pulled over in Kuranda around 11.00pm Wednesday after Queensland’s State of Origin win.
“The man returned a positive roadside breath test before being transprotd to Kuranda Police Station where he allegedly returned a B.A.C of 0.094 per cent,” a statement from Qld Police read.
“It was also revealed the man did not hold a current driver’s licence.”
He has been issued with a notice to appear in Mareeba Magistrates Court on June 27 in relation to charges of drink driving and unlicensed driving.
Mr Gordon issued a public apology saying there’s no excuse for his behaviour but insists he won’t be quitting politics despite blowing nearly twice the legal limit.
