Qld on track to reach important vaccine milestone as soon as today!

Queensland is expected to reach a significant Covid-19 vaccine milestone today, as we continue to push towards reopening the borders.

The whole state is expected to hit the 80 per cent first dose mark today, after sitting at around 79.6 per cent yesterday.

It’s good news for the border reopening, meaning we could hit the 80 per cent double dose rate within the next four weeks.

That means the reopening date of December 17 could be brought forward by a week at least.

The Gold Coast’s vaccination rate is still lagging slightly behind, sitting at 79.3 per cent first dose yesterday.

While the city’s double dose rate was at 66.3 per cent.

Queensland officials are also expected to unveil a change to the current mask restrictions today as well.

The Premier has confirmed on social media that once we hit the 80 per cent first dose mark that the mask mandate will change.
