Qld police on the hunt for man after officer injured during RBT

Police are on the hunt for a man after an officer was dragged along the road by a vehicle during an RBT stop in Maroochydore overnight.

Around 12.30am, police stopped a car and conducted a roadside breath test with the driver.

Police said the man began to drive away while the officer was stuck in the car’s window.

“The man has then allegedly started driving away from the scene with a male officer trapped in the window of the vehicle, dragging him along Church Street before turning onto Beach Road where he eventually fell to to the roadway,” police said in a statement.

An image of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries has been released.

He is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 30s, bald with a large solid build and a large tribal tattoo on his right shoulder as well as tattoos on his forearm.

The vehicle is described as a red 2003 Holden Commodore with registration 337SDQ

The police officer was treated for minor injuries to his legs.
