Qld police officer stood down over allegations of “excessive force”

A QUEENSLAND Police officer accused of using excessive force has been stood down from official duty.

The 38-year-old Senior Constable is the subject of a Crime and Corruption Commission investigation.

The male officer has been stood down from the state’s Operations Support Command while the investigation is conducted.

“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct,” police said.

“This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”
