QLD ramping up for election, but no date set
Queensland’s major parties are obviously revving up for an election, but the state’s Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk is yet to announce a date for when we’ll head to the ballot box.
According to the Queensland Parliament website, the next state election must be held before Saturday 5 May 2018. But that hasn’t stopped both the Liberal National Party and Labor from launching short social-media advertisements attacking each other in preparation.

The Liberals (@LNPQLD) tweeted:
Does @QLDLabor know anything other than hitting your family budget? ? pic.twitter.com/TE5z5WyG3h

Meanwhile, Labor (@QLDLabor) was asking:
Who is Tim Nicholls? He’s the man who cut 24,000 Queensland jobs. But there’s more… #qldpol pic.twitter.com/ip6Y9DKezi

LNP then fired back:
Hey @QLDLabor here’s a better ad and everything in ours is true. (Make sure you turn up the volume) #qldpol pic.twitter.com/v4aEm7ELw6
