QUEENSLAND has recorded one new local case of COVID-19 but health officials are confident it poses no risk to the community.
The latest case is a student at Sir Thomas Moore College in Sunnybank, the centre of the recent cluster in Brisbane.
“That student is in home quarantine and has not been infectious in the community,” Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk told Parliament on Thursday.

“Once again I want to thank all of the families that are still doing home quarantine, they are keeping Queenslanders safe.”
Two other COVID-19 cases were detected in hotel quarantine, both were acquired overseas.
16,954 tests were conducted across Queensland in the last 24 hours.
