Qld sex offender arrested after two days on the run

UPDATE @ October 25, 1.45pm: A sex offender who has been on the run from Qld Police for two days has been arrested in NSW.

The 28-year-old man allegedly removed his electronic monitoring strap on Monday, which sparked a major manhunt.

He was arrested in Wollongong a short time ago, authorities confirmed.

EARLIER @ October 24, 6.20am: POLICE are hunting a sex offender who is on the run after allegedly removing his electronic monitoring strap in Brisbane.

“Police and Corrective Service Officers are looking for Damien Kennedy, 28, supervised under the Dangerous Prisoners Sexual Offenders Act 2003,” Justice Queensland said in a post on Facebook.

Kennedy’s last known location was Salisbury in QLD at approximately 4:13pm on Monday afternoon.

Officers say Kennedy appeared in the Brisbane District Court on 15 August 2008 in relation to the offences of rape and assault with intent to commit rape.

He is described as being 171cm tall, weighing 125kg, fair complexion with blye eyes and black hair.

He also has a number of tattoos: On his right inner forearm ‘love & hate’, TROLL on shoulder and a full sleeve. On Right hand an Asian character and across knuckles ‘RUN A’. On Left Hand across knckles ‘Muck’ and inner by thumb ‘$’. On right ankle Inner starr. On right shin a chinese demon. On right thigh front flowers and family names and ‘A’. Neck “Southside”.
