Qld supermarkets to remain closed on Anzac Day this year

Gold Coasters are being reminded that all major supermarkets across the city will be closed for Anzac Day tomorrow.

Most supermarkets usually open from 1.00pm on Anzac Day, however this year all Coles and Aldi stores across the state will not open at all tomorrow.

Woolworths has also decided to shut up shop, but their Brisbane Airport store will open from 1.00pm until 6.00pm.

It’s not all bad news however, with Dan Murphys opening their doors from 1.00pm to 9.00pm.

A few BWS stores will also be open from 1.00pm, however people are being urged to check with their local store about opening hours.

Queensland appears to be the only state where all Coles and Woolworths stores are closed tomorrow, with those in NSW, the ACT, VIC, SA, NT, and TAS all opening.

In WA, only several Coles stores will be opening their doors, while all Woolworths stores will remain closed.

Shopping centres will also be shut.

Stupid idea to close, every IGA is overflowing with people.

It would have been considerate to give people some notice in the news or an auto email from the state government. No respect for their constituents. It’s seems it’s a priority to buy alcohol as the bottles shops are open, however food doesn’t seem to be a priority! Let’s move into the 21st centry!!!!!

Is Queensland too backward to have its supermarkets open on ANZAC day?

Drakes were open. Groups of people outside chatting. So much for social isolation.
Money before health me thinks.
