Qld teacher charged after sending inappropriate ‘Snapchat’ to 15yo girl

A QUEENSLAND teacher has been suspended after he sent inappropriate Snapchat messages to a female student.

The 34-year-old Toowoomba State High School teacher is alleged to have sent inappropriate messages to a 15-year-old girl via the social media app Snapchat.

The male teacher has been charged with two counts of indecent treatment of a child under 16.

The matter will go before the Toowoomba Magistrates Court on September 3.

The rise of social media interaction between students and teachers is believed to be behind more than a dozen cancellations of registrations.
