A 19-year-old learner driver was allegedly more than three times the legal alcohol limit when he crashed his car into a house in Townsville overnight.
Police allege that around 10.30pm, the teen lost control of his vehicle before mounting the footpath and crashing into a car parked in the driveway of home in Mount Louisa.
“The vehicle then crashed into the front of the house causing extensive damage,” police said in a statement.

The 19-year-old driver was breath tested at the scene, allegedly returning a positive result of 0.176 per cent.
He was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, unlicensed driving and failing to comply with learner licence requirements.
He is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court on July 18.
