Qld teen charged with stabbing man, 30, in the back

A TEENAGE boy has been charged over a fight that saw a 30-year-old man stabbed in the back in Mount Isa overnight.

It will be alleged just after midnight an altercation occurred between two men on Tadman Street in which a 30-year-old local man received a knife wound to the lower back.

Police said the men were known to each other.


The victim was transported to Mount Isa Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old local boy was arrested and has since been charged with one count each of assault, grievous bodily harm and assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed.

He is expected to appear at the Mount Isa Magistrates court tomorrow, October 10.
