“I am now back safely in Base Camp after an amazing climb and successful expedition.”

Alyssa, from Toowoomba, had tried to complete the incredible feat twice before, but Mother Nature intervened to see her postpone the life-long goal.

Former champion swimmer, Lisa Curry, was one of the Facebook followers to congratulate Alyssa on her amazing achievement.

“I can breathe again now!!” Lisa commented. “I’m so proud of you and all your years of training and efforts, ups and downs … As are the people of Australia. Your journey to the top of the world is truly amazing.”
