Qld toddler attacked by swooping magpie at local park
A Queensland mother has warned parents to be on the lookout for swooping magpies after her toddler was viciously attacked.
Ashleigh Ferguson took to Facebook to issue the plea, posting a photo of the back of her son’s head which was left covered in blood after the swooping.
It’s understood the woman and her two-year-old son were walking to their local park near Maryborough on the Fraser Coast when the little boy was targeted by the bird.
“Magpies are swooping at Pioneer Country Park/near the playground on woongool rd, Tinana,” Ms Ferguson wrote.
“Our little one is fine, he is a tough little boy but got him a beauty.
“Just posting to make others aware, if you’re planning on going to the park etc”.
The incident comes following the tragic death of a five-month-old baby in a Brisbane park in August, caused by a swooping magpie.
