A three-year-old boy has died in hospital after suffering critical injuries in a horror head-on smash in Central Queensland over the weekend.
Police said around 1.30pm Sunday, a car travelling north on the Burnett Highway collided head on with a four wheel drive travelling south.
A 25-year-old woman who also sustained serious injuries in the crash remains in a critical condition and has been airlifted to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Two women, a 27-year-old and a 34-year-old, and a 5-year-old boy were also injured however are now in a stable condition.
The 3-year-old boy died in hospital this morning.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
