QLD treasurer to deliver pre-budget speech

The Queensland Treasurer, Curtis Pitt, will deliver his pre-budget speech to the Queensland Media Club today, a week out from the state budget.

The budget has already been spruiked as being heavily focused on jobs, especially in regional areas.

It was also to feature a massive surplus due to unexpected mining royalties but that has now changed to a modest surplus due to the cost of the clean-up from cyclone Debbie earlier this year.
