QUEENSLAND may have put on a show in the third and final 2014 State of Origin match, but it all came too late.
The Maroons dominated the field in the last game of the series, walking away having won a battle with a 32-8 victory over the Blues.
But this year, they weren’t strong enough to win the three-match war.

The official State of Origin shield was handed down to New South Wales who, for the first time in eight years, are Origin champions.
Blues captain Paul Gallen was also awarded the honorary Wally Lewis Medal for Player of the Series.
