A woman has been bitten by a deadly red-bellied black snake at her home in north Queensland.
Denise Thynne, 66, was gardening in her backyard in Mirani, west of Mackay on Monday when she was bitten on the hand.
Ms Thynne went to water her roses, not noticing the venomous reptile hiding underneath the hose.

She was rushed to the Mackay Base Hospital and is expected to be released this morning after tests revealed she was extremely lucky with the snake not injecting her with poison.
