Qld woman charged with attempted murder of teen girl

A woman has been charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing attack at a home in central Queensland.

Police allege a 17-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times with a knife at a home on Beardmore Crescent in Dysart around 4.15pm on Monday.

The teenage girl was rushed to Mackay Base Hospital, where she remains in a critical but stable condition.

A 36-year-old woman, who police say is known to the teen, was arrested at the property.

She was taken to hospital with minor injuries and for assessment, where police allege she then assaulted an officer.

The woman has since been charged with attempted murder (domestic violence), common assault and serious assault police officer.

At this stage, she is expected to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court today.
