GABRIEL Medina has put on an incredible aerial display to secure one of the eight spots in the Quiksilver Pro in France.
Medina was up against Australian duo Matt Wilkinson and Owen Wright in Heat 4 of Round 4 on Sunday and wasted no time notching up his first score of the heat.
The defending world champion was on fire from the get go, grabbing a 6.33 in the opening minutes of the clash.

But it was his second wave that got the surfing world talking, a brilliant aerial maneuver that scored him a perfect 10 across the board.

With a backup score of 9.83, the Brazillian easily scored himself a place in the quarter finals where he will take on Hawaiian John John Florence.
Gold Coast duo Mick Fanning and Bede Durbidge also got through their heats and will verse eachother in the upcoming quarters.
Fellow Australian Julian Wilson was also dominant on Sunday and will take on Brazillian rookie Italo Ferreira.
Owen Wright will meet with world title contender Adriano De Souza.
In the women’s event, six-time world champion Stephanie Gilmore, back competing after a knee injury in April, suffered disappointment as she was eliminated by American Sage Erickson.
Fellow Australians Tyler Wright and Sally Fitzgibbons, meanwhile, progressed to the quarter-finals along with Victorian Nikki Van Dijk, who beat compatriot Dimity Stoyle.
