Prince Philip in hospital with an infection

The Queen’s husband has been hospitalised with an infection.

Prince Philip, 96, was admitted as a “precautionary measure” this week, Buckingham Palace told CNN.

The Prince was being treated at London’s King Edward VII Hospital for an infection and is “in good spirits”.
The statement from Buckingham Palace also said he was “disappointed to be missing the State Opening of Parliament and Royal Ascot”.  Recently Prince Philip announced that he would be stepping down from official duty in August.
The Queen however delivered her address at the opening of Parliament today, touching on Brexit, with many commenting that her hat closely resembled the European Union flag.
