Queensland Detective suspended for leaking confidential information

A DETECTIVE Senior Sergeant from the State Crime Command has been suspended over claims he leaked confidential information.

The officer, a 47-year-old man, is subject to a Crime and Misconduct Commission probe into the “inappropriate release of information”.

In a statement released today, Police said, “In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have an undertaking to inform the public when an officer faces disciplinary processes involving stand down or suspension.”

“This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.”

The investigation is ongoing.

The State Crime Command is made up of specialist squads including homicide, drug and serious crime, child safety and sexual crime and fraud and cyber crime.
