Queensland’s AFL bosses will today make their big pitch to the league, to try and get the 2020 Grand Final here in the Sunshine State.
Leaders from both the Gold Coast Suns and the Brisbane Lions will make a video presentation to the big wigs at the AFL Commission.
It follows similar moves from Western Australia last week, while South Australia is also expected to be in the running for the event.

It’s now more and more likely that Victoria will not be able to host any events, due to its continuing struggles with the coronavirus.
Queensland is hopeful that it will be able to secure the main event, as well as the award nights like the Brownlows.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has previously said the Sunshine State deserves the events, due to helping out when multiple teams had to relocate from Victoria.
“We’re going to work very closely behind the scenes, and if the decision is made for it not to be held in Melbourne, Queensland has hosted the bulk of the competition, and I hope people in Victoria would also support Queensland,” the Premier said last week.
An official decision isn’t expected until next week.
