Queensland suffering worst flu season in decades

QUEENSLAND is reportedly suffering its worst flu season in decades, with thousands of cases diagnosed in August.

Queensland Health figures show that there have been more than 12,000 confirmed flu cases this year up until August 16, with 92 people having to be hospitalised because of the severity.

Queenslanders have been told that anti-viral antibiotics could tackle the flu if they are taken within 48 hours of the appearance of symptoms.
