Queenslander fighting IS returning to “Straya”

A Queenslander fighting Islamic State militants in the Middle East has taken to social media.

Nine News reported that Ashley Dyball told his Facebook followers he’s on his way back to “Straya”.

He left Australia in May, reportedly to join a Kurdish militia group, but reportedly said he would arrive at Brisbane Airport on Saturday, after stopping off in Sweden.

“Straya I’m coming for you baby,” he said on Facebook, where he also told a mate he’d see him in 25 years give or take.

Ashley was friends with Gold Coast recruit Reece Harding who was killed after stepping on a land mine while fighting for Kurdish forces in June.
