Questions remain after racehorse shot dead

A racehorse worth in excess of $100,000, has been shot dead south of Melbourne.

The eight-year-old thoroughbred named Arrier was killed at a property on the Mornington Peninsula on Saturday morning.

The ABC  reported someone fired the bullet at close range.

The last time the owners saw the horse was when they filled her feed trough at 8:00pm the night before.

Victoria Police sad “sadly she was found near the unfinished feed which leads detectives to believe she may have been killed not long after she was fed”.
