RBT uncovers gunshot victim in ute

IT SEEMS a case of ‘wrong place, wrong time’ for a ute load of men.

They were pulled over at a Random Breath Test (RBT) site in Western Sydney around 2.20am on Sunday, with officers noticing a passenger had gunshot wounds.

Officers placed the injured man, 27, in the ute’s tray and began treating him, before ambulance paramedics arrived a short time later to the Coleman Street off-ramp of the M4 Motorway at Merrylands.

He was then transported to Westmead Hospital where is expected to have surgery on wounds to his stomach and groin

Four other men, who were travelling in the twin-cab ute with the man, have been taken to Merrylands Police Station where they are assisting police with their inquiries.
