Rebellious teens bring Ipswich trains to a halt

Two teenage boys have been charged after going on a rampage at an Ipswich railway station overnight.

Police say around 8.00pm, a member of Rail Traffic Crew asked the pair, aged 14 and 15, to leave after they were spotted misbehaving.

One of the boys then allegedly threw a full can of soft drink at the railway station employee before both teens jumped onto the train tracks and began placing rocks onto the railway lines.

Queensland Rail were forced to halt all trains on the Ipswich line as the dog squad were called in to help track down the boys along the railway line.

They were taken into custody at Booval and charged with assault as well as endangering the safety of a person in a vehicle with intent.

The pair will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
